The Library Ministry of Saint Demetrios proudly announces the Sixth Annual Craig Jon Arambiges Memorial Lecture to be held at the Saint Demetrios Church on Saturday, November 7th.

Our 6th speaker was born in Steelton, PA. in a Serbian Orthodox family. He is the youngest of six children to the late Peter and Anna Velencia. Fr. Raymond received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburg; M.B.A. from Rutgers University; and a M.Div. from Holy Cross in Brookline, MA. Fr. Ray and his Presbytera Deborah have three children. He was ordained to the Priesthood in 1988. In January, 1989, Fr. Ray arrived in Columbia, MD to establish the first Orthodox Christian Community in Howard County.

In addition to establishing the Saint Matthews Church and Community, from 1994 to present, he has been President of the Saint Matthew's House, a home for fifteen physically disabled adults. It opened in 1999 in the Kings Contrivance Village of Columbia. From 1999 to present, Fr. Ray has served on the clergy staff of CYC Summer Camp.

In February 2007, the community of Saint Matthew celebrated the Inaugural Divine Liturgy in its first permanent home in Kings Contrivance. The Church was consecrated on May 10, 2008. Fr. Ray serves his community-at-large very well in many respects, and continues to serve his “flock” as priest, as counselor and as friend!

This presentation is not only timely but a “must attend” item for all parents (and grandparents) our teenage children and young adults! It will deal with Christ's Incarnation, how it should affect us, our families and communities, thus illuminating one and all who call themselves “believers in Christ”.

At no cost, sitters will be provided for our little ones, just let us know! Come, and bring a friend!!

We want to prepare a light breakfast and lunch for that day! Please call one of the numbers below with your name and the number in your group no later than November 1st. There is no charge for this, but a free-will offering will be graciously accepted! All monies will be put into our “Lecture Fund” for the future.
