Archives
The Saint Demetrios archives include a collection of records that are of historical relevance to the parish community.
Auditing Committee
The Auditing Committee meets several times throughout the year to review financial statements of the parish. Two new members are elected to this committee at the Parish Elections held in the fall of each year.
Building Committee
The Saint Demetrios Building Committee and its sub-committees, Architecture, Finance, Public Relations and Construction work to design and build expansions to the Saint Demetrios facility and plan for maintenance to the building as well.
Cemetery
The Saint Demetrios Cemetery Committee manages the cemetery on the Church property and plans for growth as demands for plots increase.
Choir
The Saint Demetrios choir includes both an adult and children's choir that sing liturgical music. The children's choir includes singing groups of a wide variety of ages as well as a bell choir.
Church Life
Church Life ministries strive to include all aspects of life through the church to bind our community together through Christ.
Church School
The Saint Demetrios Church School includes religious education programs that begin at the age of 3 up through high school.
Dance Groups
The Demetrakia Dance Troupe includes four age dance groups that are organized by age starting at the age of 5 years old. The Dance Troupe travels and performs for Greek communities across the Mid-Atlantic region.
Day School
Founded in 1999, the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Bilingual Day School offers preschool-age students a loving Orthodox Christian environment in which the Greek language and culture are not only accepted but integrated in all facets of learning. Offering students a launch pad into Kindergarten, our unique preschool program provides a natural first extension of the Orthodox child's home life. We are a non-profit preschool and pre-kindergarten program for children ages three through five.
Festival
The annual Saint Demetrios Grecian Festival is a wonderful religious and cultural event that is held in the Fall each year on the Saint Demetrios property.
Greek School
The Saint Demetrios Greek School has devoted itself to helping our children and adults learn Greek language and literature. The school began operations shortly after the establishment of our Church.
Library
The Reverend Father Ernest Arambiges Library includes a large collection of books, videos, tapes and computer resources that are used by parish members, Church School, Greek Language School and the Day School program.
Men's Breakfast Fellowship
The Men's Breakfast Fellowship is a time for the men of Saint Demetrios to get together for fellowship and spiritual nurture.
Philoptochos
The Ladies Philoptochos Society is a philanthropic organization that continually works to help out the needy.
Religious Education
The Religious Education Committee plan and direct the development and delivery of religious programs within Saint Demetrios.
Stewardship
The Saint Demetrios Stewardship program began in 1986. The committee continues its mission of promoting the Christian way of sustaining our House of God.
Suburban Players
The Suburban Players have been directing and producing quality musicals since 1974. The Saint Demetrios community has played every role in planning and presenting these plays.
Technology
The Technology Committee acts as an advisory body assisting the parish in its technology needs. The committee is comprised of professionals from several technology disciplines. Maintenance of this website is part of the duties of the committee.
Youth Ministries
Youth Ministry programs are thriving at Saint Demetrios. These include our Little Angels (0-3), Joy (3-8), Hope (8-12), GOYA (12-18) and YAL (19-35) programs.
